Of course I have a Strategy…
It’s to make money!
I don’t want to mock the beginner but if you are say your strategy is, “to make money” then you are as dumb as I was!
THAT’S RIGHT!
Deep down I thought I would start trading and the money would just start flowing in. Well, maybe not so deep down.
I’m not sure how many people start trading stocks online because they think that ‘day trading’ is the promised land, but having a strategy is a lot more than just calling yourself a day trader.
If you are still reading then some of this is resonating with you…
OR
You are very curious to find out how dumb I actually was about trading when I started.
Ironically I started with a significant amount of financial knowledge but the reality of trading seems to be that there is always something else to learn.
To chose the right strategy for yourself can be difficult, I basically did a trial and error until I discovered that my risk tolerance did not match up with my propensity to make high risk decisions.
I also liked the
“ACTION”!
I was a bit of a junky when it came to making trades. But…
I was always curious, I wanted to learn more, I wanted to understand why stocks moved the way they did. I was determined to see what was controlling the strings.
Luck for me I got lucky one day and observed several stocks dropping and bouncing. Some stocks would do this several times in a day.
I started to see patterns and consistent opportunities.
This is when I realized that my strategy was not day trading, it was…
High Frequency Trading!
Small gains, with blue chip type stocks.
My strategy has evolved over time, I’d like to tell you that it is too elaborate to talk about I this short post but I’m all about simplicity.
I’m not writing this to sell you on my strategy, I’m waiting until I make my first million and then I’m going to hike up the price, buy an island somewhere and watch the Sun set on the water every night.
I am writing this blog to help new traders realize they need to start simple, learn as much about trading as possible and then ease into their strategy.
unless of course you have a mentor that will show you the ropes…
If you are unsure where to start and you want to start trading then you should check out my get started check list and it will give you a basic outline as to what you need to know to start trading stocks.
